Another kind of crayfish found in South London

Turkish crayfish Apatacus leptocladus has now been found twice in Deptford creek
(where the Ravensbourne meets the Thames). The Creekside Centre website has details.

They also do a fantastic guided low tide walk, I’ve been and it really is a great way to spend a fiver and two hours.

Is this a non-native species, perhaps introduced from someones home fish tank?
