Hi Guys,
Could anyone help find a source for buying amadou?
I live in Belfast and have contacted the local experts and they say that horses hoof fungus is very rare in this country which is a pity as i would like to have tried to make some my-self.
Any help on this will be very much appreicated :You_Rock_

I know of a commercial wholesale source for prepared amadou, but the quantities you'ld have to buy would probably be more than you could entertain.

It is used by dry fly fishermen for drying their flies (in former times, it was used by dentists to dry tooth cavities before filling and could be bought from some high street chemists/pharmacists). Nowadays, you might get it from fly fishing /fly tying wholesalers such as Gordon Griffiths or Veniard, or from retail stores that stock their stuff.
