Just got this finished up a few days back, specs below;
80crv2 4mm
59 Rockwell verified in Wilson tester
Sabre grind
Brass pins
Bocote scales
Acid etched and then gun blued

Leather sheath 4mm

Was interesting to make especially warping wise after heat, the bit of Bocote I used was gorgeous in the flesh!

That's a grand piece of blade smithing. I like cleavers, I have 5 of them in my kitchen, several sizes.

That slightly curved edge will be a great "rocker" for a fine dice.
The finish and that will always look clean = a real advantage.
I don't understand how to use it.
Do I have to use the bevel edge as a scraper to scoop up a dice of meat or onion?

Almazan is in Spain, the design is of a Serbian cleaver popularised by a company in Almazan :)

Just my take on their/a Serbian design

Luke

Thank you for clarifying!
What confused me was the ‘Siberian’ in the headline.
You did a beautiful job!

Edit: I have a few Siberian blades, but have never seen one like this, so I started looking for one wiyhout success.

I do not know about you guys, but I think the OP's version looks nicer....

The only question I would have is about the blueing. Is it chemically blued ( 'cold blue') or properly blued?

It’s cold blued after being acid etched in a ferric chloride bath I find it makes the coldnblue more consistent and with this being 80crv2 it reacts like 01 tool steel if not looked after so makes it easier to care for in the long run. Thanks for the comments

:)
