The weather on Sunday was too nice to stay in. Headed over towards Blackstone Edge near Rochdale. There was a lot more snow on the roads than I was expecting so I decided on a little bimble around Hollingworth Lake.

Causey stone track (shame about the pylon - but they're little hard to avoid around here)

Not sure what the contraption is below

Looking back the way I came

The helpful landrover tracks disappeared and I discovered trainers are not the best weather for thigh high drifts. This shot is looking West towards Scout Moor which is now home to the largest on shore wind farm in England

Glad these chaps were the other size of the (rather low) fence

Met a family out sledging and cadged a go down here

The sea cadet station looked pretty iced up

Had to laugh, ice cream ripple, you obviosly like your grub!

I was thinking more the lake looks like damascus steel, or is that just a gender thing?

Good pickies by the way beamdune.
