Had a lovely walk on Saturday - didn't see much in the way of wildlife but the fruit, nuts and flowers around was startling...a small selection below in case you din't get out this weekend
Spindle Tree
I think this is toadflax (?)
Phacelia
The last of the poppies
I'm always surprised how beautiful white bryony is when the black has already withered
A few of the larger yews were covered in berries
One particular sweet chestnut was covered in open star shaped nut husks with the nuts still in (yum)
I always have to touch teasels - don't know why?
Love a late mallow - so delicate
Stacks of mullein around everywhere for the hand drill enthusiasts
Anyone for conkers?
Plenty of plump sloes about although the leaves are turning
The wayfaring trees are flowering a second time which is odd.....
Stacks of fruit on the guelder roses (which are going a lovely colour)
I certainly know why everyone is foraging haws right now!
Hope you all had a good weekend!
