I'm always surprised how beautiful white bryony is when the black has already withered

A few of the larger yews were covered in berries

It's been a strange old year. Some stuff coming late, others early and a few two or three times over. Compared to some recent years autumn seems to be reasonably back in line. Teasels are tactile aren't they :D Certainly looks like a Toad-flax - flower looks similar to a foxglove but has 3 defined 'lumps' at the bottom and 2 at the top and has narrow pointy leaves

Yep, that be the common toadflax, I remember seeing a load when I was over your way on our bimble....I was out last sunday with the kids. We collected beech nuts, but not as much as I would of liked. We also found loads and loads of sweet chest nuts and I have never seen as much birch polypore out, twas everywhere...I will get some photo's up when I suss out this new image resizer Nightwalker sent me....
