I'm in a good mood! :-D

The sun is shining and on the way to pick up my morning paper I decided to take a detour through some abandoned allotments. I was hoping to find some puffballs as I've got some new recipes to try out. I didn't find any but I don't mind.

I found a lot of red and white dead nettles, some rhubarb obviously left over from when the allotments where looked after and lots and lots of brambles (not anything to pick yet but there will be!)

I also saw my first butterflies of the year. The first I saw was a tortoiseshell (I think - mainly orange with a black and white checked band across the top edge of the wing, blue spots across the bottom edge of the wing) but before I had finished my walk I saw another couple of tortoiseshells, some whites (couldn't see the markings on them) and a pair of butterflies I've never seen before.

Can anyone ID them for me? (I know I'm not the best artist around!)
