Dougster spurred me on to get on and make a synthetic quilt so here is the prototype proof of concept.

Built this yesterday and completed moments ago. Its a 120 X110cm 2/3 underquilt. The Green material a little darker than in the pics and handles real well. I have about 3/4 of an inch of no-name insulation inside. The 1st pics show the quilt before quilting, the later ones show the anchor thread quilting.

Here it is. -

I have now completed the gird (pics to follow) so the insulation is held nice and firm.

Initial impression is that it is as warm as the lighter down ones that I have made. That's just after a few minutes in the hammock on Sunday. It was a lot warmer than the last time I was out in the hammock. So not a scientific measurement. I would have been quite happy sleeping out on Sunday with it.

I reckon it's a good spring/summer/autumn quilt. The fabric is super airtight and feels like silnylon, although its not.
