I managed to find a pack that I've been looking for for ages. An Alpiniste 7 with the full length front zip. This thing is a beauty! Extended, It's big enough that you can literally get inside it an use as a bivouac.

I have always found that Geese are absolutely fine and as long as you're not scared of them, they don't do a lot but if you show any fear that's when they will attack/chase you.
