    Low Alpine Sting arrived

Last photo at the risk of banging on too much. The padded section of the straps terminate around my armpit level or so it seems. Is that how it sits for you as well Mr Ed? They are shorter and less padding than I am used to but Im assuming this is how this pack functions and doesnt seem to...

    Low Alpine Sting arrived

I'd still value a look certainly Mr Ed. always worth knowing the right way to wear gear exmil gear. My background in the Australian army doesnt help much as we saw Alice packs and two types of short back pack designed to rest on hip webbing and some were atrocious especially for taller blokes...

    Low Alpine Sting arrived

thanks mate, now you mentioned it I did tighten them later. I got quite used to the pack now. I think the difference was the slightly more comfortable straps on the vulcan, which was more a case of feeling different. I do value the 1kg less weight of this one. Wont bother with the rocket/PLCE...

    Low Alpine Sting arrived

I think part of the problem is my upper body, barrel chest. Im about 18 stone, fairly fit and skinny legs. Will measure myself as per the video, thanks, and make some adjustments to the straps. Im fairly confident Im long spined as I used a berghaus vulcan size 4, the longest one for years. Its...

    Day pack decision

Fellas I have been looking to get a Tasmanian tiger XL daypack. pretty basic clamshell style, light at 850 grams and 23L. More for day hikes/hunting/commute than overnighting. If I need more volume I can tag a 5L dump pack to it somewhere. I dont like connecting extra packs in suburbia, but in...

Thanks Walker its a Rossi 92, brazilian made copy of the yanks 1892 action. Not as pretty but a lot stronger than the old guns. Calibre is 44 mag, the dirty harry calibre. I see you blokes have a few over there in use as well... https://www.gunstar.co.uk/Lever-action/Rossi/AI/Rifles

    Low Alpine Sting arrived

Thanks fellas. We have the wet season at the moment so when it clears for a day I will take it for a decent walk with pics. Dont actually mind a walk in the rain as long as Im used to a packs configuration. Nothing worse than working out straps or packing up slowly in a downpour

    Low Alpine Sting arrived

Just recieved it here internationally. Only took two weeks from the UK, arrived as described, perfect condition, looks new from the supplier SAS Surplus 007 on ebay. First thoughts are its quite compact which is good. its specced as 55 to 60L on the internet, which seems about right. Being a top...

Nice looking packs but 150 euros phew I only spend big dollars on big haulers. Not knocking anyone elses style or preferences though, whatever works best for the user.

purpose of this configuration in daypacks?

Hi gents, Im ex military myself but got out a long time before a lot of this fancy gear was on the market. Had a generic knowledge question relating to these pack types which are common. What are the advantages of this configuration with the two separated pouch sections on the back? Just trying...
