BcUK Photograph of 2015 Competition Organisers Favourite - Winning Picture

Thanks Steve, forgot all about that shot, one of my better ones from 2015 :) Been quite busy the past few months with work, study and trying to fit in photography when I can.

    My Veggie Garden

Forgot to add, how much of a calabrese plant can be eaten? I have noticed one plant that has generated a large flower head, but I am not sure if that is it for that plant.

    My Veggie Garden

Thanks for the advice, I may try some shorter videos. I have never done vlogging before but I have watched plenty of other people doing it and some are good when they are 10-15mins long like Rickvanman's channel. I used to teach courses for work before and for that you have to talk for days upon...

    Aurora Borealis

Thanks. :) It doesn't occur every night, and I recommend keeping an eye on certain facebook groups and aurora forecast websites. I can post links if you like. On nights where there is activity look to the north. Now you may not see anything at first but you may notice that it is slightly...

    Aurora Borealis

Now that aurora season is back for us in the far north I thought I would revive this thread with some new shots of the aurora taken around where I live. 17th of February 2015: Aurora - 17th Feb by Andy McDonald, on Flickr 13th August 2015 - My first one of the season and first time I have...

    Bushmoot 2015 Videos

Funny that, I thought you would. I nearly forgot I do have a series of videos that involve rope making that I still need to compile. :) Now that is fascinating to watch.

    Bushmoot 2015 Videos

I'm glad you enjoyed them. :) I have several more videos but I am not yet sure how to edit them together into something good. May be a wee while before I get them up.

    Bushmoot 2015 Photos

I have finally got around to uploading a fair number of my photos. Yes there is still more! :) I have found the best way was to upload to my personal website (not that there is much on it anyway) rather than flood my flickr account with photos. :) It was another great moot and I just want to...

    Your picture of the day...

Last night during the meteor show. Caught the aurora as well, first this season since it has been constant twilight for the past month and a bit. Also managed to get a meteor in the shot in the top left. :) August 2015 - Aurora by Andy McDonald, on Flickr

    Harvest time

I will have a look around for that post. Would drying the onions (and other veg/herbs) in the greenhouse be ok if they are kept out of direct light? That is a great amount of stuff you have stored away. I can only dream of having a pantry like that. :)

    My Veggie Garden

Thanks, I will have a look up here at the weekend and see if anyone has them. I noticed on on of the UK seed sites they were already out of stock. I was watching a youtube video and the person was putting multiple seed potatoes in 2 - 3 layers interspersed with compost. Would that yield much...

    Harvest time

Just catching up with this thread. Not got anything to harvest (except 2 pea pods) yet but I can't be far off. :) With onions, what is the best way to store them? I tried growing some a few years back and when I hung them in the shed the developed mould. I am guessing it was either too damp or...

    My Veggie Garden

I haven't got anything in the greenhouse now. Most of my focus has been outside this year, but I do plan to make more use of it next year with tomatoes at least being grown. What sort of seed potatoes would you recommend Hugh? I would imagine any of the garden stores/nurseries around here are...

    My Veggie Garden

I was just surprised that it heated up for the first time in five years.....must have added the right amount of materials for a change. :) I know what you mean about over thinking it, some books do go into exact thicknesses and ratios of greens and browns. I am just happy to have compost ready...

    My Veggie Garden

Well seems a few things have come along since I posted the above photos. However the peas and beans are still struggling away for some reason. The rest of the veg is doing well. Only had 1 onion try to bolt so far. Carrots are doing fine and even the parsnip seeds I got from Hugh are coming...
