    New from maker of Sissipuukko.

Not too sure if it has a secondary bevel or not but I am kind of intrigued by the hardness; a stated 62 HRC is higher than I would expect this steel to maintain good toughness, but I’m certainly not complaining.

Thanks Turnip, they must have just got them in at Moonraker.

    New from maker of Sissipuukko.

Handy looking little knife these. I fancy one in orange but I’ll take whatever lands in the U.K… Not found anyone here who stocks them yet though.

Well, well, well, look what I found in a storage box….Micromesh!

Yes I have most of it still knocking round myself. Probably because I’ve only ever used it to polish 2 x phosphor bronze washers.

Fiskars tools - are they plastic tat?

I have an X27 splitting maul and a bill hook (I forget the model no.) that I use frequently and both are still going strong after over a decade of use. Both are nicely weighted and balanced pieces of kit with well matched steel that resists both edge chipping and edge rolling surprisingly well...

Spyderco Para 3 LW in Spy27 - C223PCBL Brand new. Never cut nor carried. Blade Centering is perfect on this particular example. Spy27 is a brilliant all round stainless steel that is used only by Spyderco. In my experience it manages to take an incredibly fine edge very easily, yet retains it a...

What are your favourite pocket knives?

HH drop point UKPK or The QSP Hedgehog - a hugely impressive knife for the cost.

Is a psk really needed in the UK?

I guess it depends where you are and what you do. If you work in an inner city office in London then the chances of you needing one are significantly less than someone who works the Forests in Scotland. If owning one makes you happy then go for it. Always better to have one and not need it...

    DMT or equivalent sharpeners

I’ve owned the large 8” coarse/medium and fine/extra fine diamond combi stones from DMT. They were ok but much, much prefer The 8” diamond #400 grit and #1200 plates from Atoma. The “interrupted“ pattern of the DMT stones are simply a sales gimmick in order to sell you a larger stone with less...

No it’s fine, cheers for bringing it to my attention. May possibly explain why it’s not sold yet.

I can confirm it isn’t a crack. It is a dark feature in the grain of the beech that has occurred due to it being spalted.

Bump. Nice knife by a highly praised U.K. maker.
