    Thanks alot :) The zebrano and bocote are glued yes, and the wedges are glued to the inside of the hole but not directly to the tang. I am still finetuning and testing this construction method, but so far it has worked very well for the knives i have made this way.

    Thanks alot! it basically means to hot cut a hole in the axe with a hot cut chisel, after that the eye is forged on a series of, so called, drifts (mandrels) to get the final shape!

    Yes the you need a good clean hot fire, and many welding heats to ensure a full weld! Charcoal and a hair dryer is probably not going to get you there, but i started with exactly the same! Thanks for the kind words, much appreciated! No orders at the moment, my journeymans test is coming up...

    Hi Tommy, and thanks! In this case the axe was constructed in a bow-tie manner, ie without slitting and drifting a hole but simply just folding the material back on itself after forging recesses in the steel, and i don't have a powerhammer either :) Peder Visti
