    Lidl Stuff

I had to go to 2 Lidls, but I got the FAK & pack of 8 caribiners (very strong!), too. I missed the huge toolbox for £10 last week though, & I always buy Mr Choc biscuits from there, exactly like Twixes & Mars bars.

    Survival knife

It looks like a cheap copy of the Aitor Jungle King 1 knife. For hollow-handle knives, the original ones were okay, but the slingshot was crap (the rubber tube would be better used in a spring trap or fishing spear) & the small utility knife/harpoon was quite good. I actually bought a cpl of...

    Survival tin show and tell

Yep! Definate morale booster! I read on some US site about having a pic of a loved one in your kit as "a reason to survive" so I have the dogtag with my ID details on one side & pic of SWMBO on t'other! (Censored mainly for the US sites, dontcha know!) The dayglo rectangles are...

    ray mears knife

I use a variety of different blades from the good old Mora, through a Marine Kabar up to a Becker BK7 (and sometimes a SRKW SwampRat, but thats abit big really!). I think the SwampRat was the priciest at about £100 including shipping from the States & I would say any or all of them are just as...

    Survival tin show and tell

Heres mine. Its changed a little since the picture was taken, Ive upgraded to "proper" (blackhawk) paracord, a new design glowring & added some glow-in-th-dark beads (55p for a pack of 100 or so from Hobbycraft!) onto the paracord. I AM in the process of switching to a BCB mini mess tin & will...

True Utility Ammo/CD Tin for £5.00

Have a look at your local Maplins, folks! Had a real find today, a True Utility Ammo box style CD case (take the CD pouches out & you have a sturdy, NON-watertight tin) it contains a very bright LED caribiner(NOT for climbing, obviously!) a Turbo jet lighter & a perfectly serviceable mini...

So how did you all get into this??

Hi. Long time lurker here, first time poster. I think my earliest memory of being aware of survivalism/bushcraft, was from a BBC documentary where a guy assembled a Kit in a peanut can, I must have been VERY young as the waterproof sheet in his kit gave me the idea of using my playmat/table...
