Suggestions for a lockable storage shed/workshop I could get asap?

Yep, lost every tool from my allotment shed a few years ago, nothing of great value big made keeping it impractical. I’ve seen the cheaper metal sheds get lifted up and turned over (literally)

    Moonshiner Boots - Anti tracking

Footwear/foot marks can tell you a lot about your quarry. Still used today in crime scene investigation. Remember historically people might of only had one pair of shoes or boots, often handmade, so a print would be more valuable than today’s “size 10 altberg” mark.

    Modern day Billhook

I have an Italian made one with a leather stacked handle. Longer than a traditional English and as above a cross between a bill and a machete. I’ve cut h miles of hedge with it and cleared a fallen willow in pretty short order too. Closest I’ve seen in the UK is the Stihl ones. I have a more...

    Bialaddin T10 table lamp

It certainly would. Back in the day it employed a huge local workforce, when we manufactured world leading products. It stands on the A40 and has a huge tower. Some of the building retained its original fittings and signs. I was born in the wrong era.

Utility Knives and Multitools – Are they Legal for Camping?

I’m not a legal expert by any stretch but I would wager that a court would dismiss any argument about cutting edge length and convict on the basis of overall blade length. This would/could form case law. The convicted could of course appeal and fight the legislation at considerable cost and...

Utility Knives and Multitools – Are they Legal for Camping?

I don’t unfortunately. He mentioned it in his video so I did have a look to see if something had changed but to no avail. It won’t be R v Wildgoose 2024 though I’ll be sure of that. The cps website says: “The article does not have to be sharp: a butter knife, with no cutting edge and no...

    Normark Super Swede?

One of those knives that didn’t really appeal when they were available everywhere, but now I can see how useful it could be. They were popular with Royal Marine Mountain types.

    Dealing with Rings

Whilst I understand the need/want to shed the burden of “stuff”, it’s worth remembering that some things can never be replaced due to the sentiments they hold. Maybe dedicate a small box to such items? I have a memory box in the loft, coins, medals, bits and bobs I might want to re-visit in...

A Hard Decision-Sell up or rent?

I’ve had a friends in the same boat, they opted for the rental option. In the two years they rented it I changed the locks at least 3 times, fixed endless clogged pipes and cleaned more mould than I care to remember. I think this current mob in the building with the big clock will hit the...

    Bulletproof vs lightweight

Hi Jon, I guess that depends on your intended use. If you are looking to cover distance your knees will thank you for going lightweight but if you are more stationary heavier sturdy kit will serve you well. if you are around fires or lugging wood around you’ll need a solid jacket at least

Bushcraft licence to and from the Moot to a place of Residence !

There was a period when RAF and RMP were taking multi tools and all sorts of soldiers flying to forward operating areas. Something to do with civil aviation act rules. It’s why the Pilots “J” type rescue knife was replaced with a strap cutter affair. Bizarre world given that rifles and...

    Woodspirit protection

The seller had quite a few, similar but no two the same obviously. Mostly Gandalf-esk or green man. Made in Dorset but not by him. I have considered letting him age and return to the earth but I also really like him

    Woodspirit protection

Picked up this fella at Lyme Regis market a few weeks back (unknown maker). He’s had a quick coat of what looks to be varnish by the maker but I’d like to give him a bit more weather protection. Any suggestions?
