    The gunk off hexy is pretty awful. We always used to squeeze our mess tins inside an old sock after they'd been used to stop them from sticking to the inside of your webbing pouch.     Dyeing a DPM jacket

    I had a go at using dylon olive green dye on one of the older ripstop 95 smocks a while ago. It barely made a difference. I'm sure I've seen some copies in OG though.

    24hr trip, what i brought + bivi issue?

    I've seen folk set up some overhead cover using a poncho and a hiking pole with some cord and a few pegs. It's not as good as a full basha but it does keep the worst of the rain off you without burying your face inside the bivi bag.
