    The perfect Bushcraft knife!

I would still vote for Micarta or a synthetic handle for an outdoors knife.

Thanks for the info Jason, I had a feeling Mojo was right. I've managed to get another "last" Wetterling Army Axe from Chris at Army Surplus so it looks like I will be attempting another hybrid. I'll stick with my trusty file again and I'll report back in....ummm... November...

Yup, that looks great to me. I'll be having one of those. :D Well done to all those who contributed ideas and to Sal, of course, for the execution.

    The perfect Bushcraft knife!

That's sounds really good Leon. I was hoping that something would take shape and I saw more constructive thought here on BCUK than I did elsewhere. I'm looking forward to it now. :) Cheers

    Hello

If you get a look at OS map 53 you will see that there are a few areas of forest, but, that most of them have the purple outline of the National Trust which limits your activity. (i.e no fires allowed) Having said that, it is still one of the few places in Scotland that still has some...

How do you pack away your tarp?

If my Tatonka tarp is set up like this.... Then I just undo one end and fold it as I walk towards the end still tied to the tree. Then I roll it up and strap it to outside of my pack. Carrying the spare wheel about is a drag though. :D Cheers
