Best way to cook leg of venison on open fire?

Gah, I wouldnt recommend foil...purely for the fact its not biodegradable, and so is common at old camping grounds :(....Why not use some burdock leaves or similar?... Ive cooked a leg using a medium sized camp fire, I simply dug a hole, heated some dry rocks on a fire and placed them into the...

    Amazing hole digging machine

I have a similar tool, except he is an excellent wood chipper... Border terrier, I have no idea why...if I stop on the trail he will eviscerate any soft log lying on the ground. I will turn around to find the entire area covered in wood flakes and chips. ...good tinder I might add.

    A new sleeping bag.

At the moment I have a cheapish sleeping bag, and its absolutely fine for the summer and spring, but its time I got my self a 4 season that will last me a good long while. I remember seeing a sleeping bag which is modular, i.e you can zip out the side for more space in side or keep it tight to...

    The Books!? Which?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone might be able to recommend one or two books on identifying edible plants. Ideally I would like a larger book I could study at home and perhaps a small field guide with picture references that I could take with me in my pocket or rucksack. Any help is...

    A new knife? Which?

Sweet, i might just buy that and be done with it. I dont mind spending a little more, but I suppose I should hone in on my knife-care and sharpening skills before I go spending a lot of my hard earned moneys on a knife.
