Solo tent backpacking: Snugpak Journey solo?

I found a rather nice price for 2 wild country coshee micro's. I like the pitching design for wet weather and i'm happy that wild country will be decent quality as I've had a tent by them before which lasted years. looking forward to trying this out.

Solo tent backpacking: Snugpak Journey solo?

Things went very quiet for me this past 4 years but I'm slowly getting out and about. I am like you Hugh, I am quite a light sleeper although noise doesn't bother me too much bugs do. Even in the colder months (do we really get colder months anymore in the UK?) it only takes a couple of them...

My probably annual winter jacket recommendation thread!!

For standing around like wearing an oven with just a t-shirt underneath Snugpak SJ9. Ive just picked up a FJ6 and I am hoping its not as warm tbh. Saying that I've never been more comfortable (no overheat) with a woolpower 200 zip neck when moving or for colder weather 400 zip jacket both used...

Does a lighter daysack to accompany berghaus centurio 45L make sense?

PLCE is zip up where as MMPS is zip down so they are not compatible. They are more like 11 liters each. depends who is selling them as to whether you get 1 or 2. try and get a good grade because the clips do get damaged and crack. I'm not a fan of the 2 pouches side by side either. i used to...

    Karrimore Side Pocket modification?

It maybe quite expensive to get the mods done. if your karrimor pouches have the fastex clips you could get a couple of cheap grade dpm PLCE pouches and connect them behind the main pouch. its a bit bulky admittedly but you can experiment until you are happy with that type of setup. Also you...

How to plan a solar system

Cant seem to get a definitive price on a CEF solar panel. could you link please? I like the look of the Anker solix F3800, that would be ideal if the solar could keep it topped up during cold, wet or snowy days.

How to plan a solar system

So its as simple as plugging a 3 pin plug on a heater to the anker and produce warmth? I don't understand how the solar works (obvs sunlight) but over the winter is when the power would be needed, are the panels efficient enough to provide enough power these days to run for example: Heater on...

How to plan a solar system

My understanding of the question was that the heating didn't work, thus made the house cold and damp? And the cost of heating... @lostplanet can you confirm? @gra_farmer The economy 7 system is just crap to blunt. Although its supposed to be cheaper overnight to charge the storage heaters...

How to plan a solar system

My GF lives in a rented bungalow (more like a villa) with small bathroom, 1 bedroom and a living/kitchen area. The house is set up with economy 7 storage heaters which are totally useless and cost a fortune to run. Currently she is on a PAYG meter. There is no central heating as such and the...
