    Will this work or not?

I had to use A LOT of nikwax for my cargo chute....didn't really work either. I'm not sure I really see the point, to be honest. Unless you are pressed up against it the water runs down the nylon and you still don't get wet. I think it would be a relatively good idea with a small chute but...

    Bushcrafting in Hampshire

Excellent, I'll look to hold something in Jan/Feb - two night stay out in the woods. I also have permission to shoot on the farmer's land to the south - small game/birds only (Air Rifle) NC

Which rifle? I have access to land, but no experience....

BSA Meteor Mk2 with 4x32 Hawke Eclipse scope - old but perfect for bunny hunting (it's been souped up with Titan XS mainspring, new washers / O-Ring and a lot of elbow grease). I've scanned some of the emails above but some key points: Get on the DEFRA or BASC websites and ensure you know...

    Bushcrafting in Hampshire

I have land in Farringdon, close to Alton, in Hampshire. see http://lordswoods.blogspot.com I run survival courses up there but am happy to have the odd 'free' weekend around the fire, swapping stories. oh, I'm Logit's brother-in-law to be (when my mad sister marries him ;) ). NC...

When to use a bivy bag

I must admit, I never leave home without the bivy and will always use it. You can't guarantee anything when out at night and even the lightest shower can seriously degrade your enjoyment of a potentially good night's sleep. What have you got to lose?

    Rabbit over open fire

All, what is the best way to cook freshly despatched and prepared rabbit over an open fire? Should I let it hang overnight before trying? Should I cook as soon as prepared? many thanks, NC

    Alone in the Wild

Would you happen to have a link to this information? I'd be intrigued to find out who trained him. I've read his bio and subsequent news articles and he appears to have been completely untrained apart from 'general knowledge' that he collected growing up in Scotland.

    Alone in the Wild

Ok, I've just got to the end of the show and here's what I think. Summary: a little bit of training, even a single day's worth, goes a long way. He appeared to go out there with the right kit (in most respects) but not a lot of the knowledge required to actually survive. I was impressed...

How do I find land or find the owner of some land?

I suspect that's the route I'll go down although woodlands.co.uk have got back to me with the offer of land close by. If anyone else is looking for wild-camping areas, you can do worse than applying to the Community Woodland area of www.woodlands.co.uk thank you for the advice.

How do I find land or find the owner of some land?

I am looking for land to practice and teach survival skills and navigation. I have applied to woodlands.co.uk but so far there has been no response. How do I find out who owns land around me? Are there any woodlands 'forums' that I can delve in to? Thanks!
