    Took my poorly FL2 to Bell Engineering last week. They diagnosed a Haldex problem, and in a few hours it was fixed - new o-rings, oil, and reconditioned. Highly recommend Bell. Now running sweetly again!

    My FL2 is poorly, so it’s booked into Bell Engineering next month for transmission work - either the haltex or rear differential or both. I do love the Freelander but they are not cheap to maintain…

    Best bushcraft trousers?

    I also am pear-shaped, and for me the Fjallraven Keb trousers are by far the comfiest trousers for bushcraft I’ve ever worn. Stretch exactly where you need, super durable.

    You did really well there, Chris. I paid over £10k for mine - a 2013 SD4 HSE Lux. From a dealer, and it had quite a few big items done.

    Very nice FL2. Aside from the cambelt, I would check whether the major service mileage/year items have been done - particularly rear diff, PTU and gearbox oil changes.

    I recently bought a Freelander 2. Best car I've ever owned, I think. You do have to be careful but if you find a good one, they are fantastic do-anything 4x4s and amazingly comfortable too.

    Picked this up in pretty used condition, and spent a couple of hours yesterday sanding and polishing (as per Ben Orford’s restoration tutorial on YouTube) to bring this back to its former glory. I’m going to make this my main user for teaching this year.
