That is a non problem if one has the proper grip.

Opinions yes facts no. One of the better ways to get one's hand from the handle to the blade is trying to push the blade into something with a wrong grip.

You are doing something wrong if that happens, in the last 65 years I must have cut myself in 20 different ways but not ever by having my hand slide to the blade. (There are special ways to grip if a puukko is used as a weapon.)

Ti spork works a lot better than the plastic one, I have seen a longer version somewhere. Mme Toddy's SS version probably beats most "outdoor" ones. I can kind of see the use for one after your explanation, my Trangia set tends to be wide and wider so no real need, come to think .........
