Mad panic to get to their regular roosts. Their internal clocks are as good as a watch. Getting dark an hour and a half early would have been as bad to them as your alarm clock going off a half hour after you were supposed to be in an important meeting at work. It is fascinating behaviour...

That is quite unusual behaviour from the crows. It should be the opposite. Unless they weren’t in their usual roosting places and left quickly to get there. Where was this?

I don’t know what buffoons were in charge of the eclipse in Clent, but they messed it right up. No clouds all day. Then during the 20 minute slot they put it on. ALL the clouds. It’s very annoying. I’m writing to Worcester County Council :mad:

They bristle up their hairs which are very dense and the stingers are too short on wasps to reach. Hornets can though. And badgers can get stung on their snoots, which they don’t like at all. But as they are mostly plunged into the nest the wasps don’t get much of a chance to get to that bit.

I have done talks on wasps and hornets in Uni and at two colleges. But that’s my subject. I am not sure how I could do something on droppings unless it’s in field and finding stuff as you go. But it could be possible.

I think that’s a forum thing. I don’t do much foraging. I study wasps and hornets and hang out in forests investigating the ebb and flow of its inhabitants. Mom foraged for mushrooms that dad threw out as they’d kill us stone dead. And dad does some foraging for stuff that won’t. He’s well...

Don’t knock it till you’ve tried it. You can lick it too if it’s dry enough. I was told this about bats. But unless it is fresh. It will stick to your tongue.

That seems the opposite of light to me. If you have one quality knife. You don’t need the other three knives and maybe just the axe or saw as an extra. That will save you a stack of space and weight. Can I ask why you take so many knives please?
