    RATS!

You know that if you mix ordinary bleach and vinegar, or bleach and ammonia, it will create a very toxic liquid which will give off gas.....don't breath it in, but poured down that run and bunged up with a turf, well.....you're just cleaning, aren't you ?

    Eggs,

Normally our eggs are brown, but we did get some white ones a month ago, and the shells were incredibly fragile in comparison. I felt sorry for the hens to be honest.

    Burn Gel and Soothing Gel

House leeks, Liveforevers, Hen and chickens.....are a much under rated plant. The juice is very gentle on our skins, it's soothing, it's good for small burns, stings, grazes and insect bites.....and it's as tough as British weather :)

    Burn Gel and Soothing Gel

The house leek is pretty hardy too. Mine survives quite happily outdoors all year round....and I think it's as good as the aloe vera is. Might not have quite so much juice, but there's ample enough.

    Burn Gel and Soothing Gel

+1 to @Woody girl post If you buy a pack of 100 mini zip bags (couple of pounds on eBay) then individually seal the sachets, they last for so much longer. I know it's a footer of a thing, but in a pack it's sometimes easier than fretting about a bottle squirting if i gets squished. It's hard...

    Sleeve pockets

Keys, card, a couple of plasters, anti histamines......just small at hand stuff.

    Eggs,

Mine too, we used to blow them and paint them with miniature scenes for Easter. I do like the brown/ multicoloured ones these days.....like wholemeal bread,it's supposed to be less processed, more than empty calories bleached to sterility, so better for us. I know that's utterly subjective though.

    Eggs,

Why does that sound so much of a reason ? :sigh: I fear I am becoming jaded, and then reality hits with truth.

If it's your own, then I don't see why not. I think that's where IA fails; it's not 'real', iimmc ? it's a smoothie mix of bland.

 Ach, dinna fash. We manage well enough to understand each other :) I absolutely adore the richness of the languages of our British Isles, the accents, the way the words form and move with resolve, with emotion. I am now profoundly deaf, but even deaf I can read, and when in person, see...

....and I speak polite English, and broad Scots :) My little brother took off one afternoon and signed up with the Army.....who promptly decided he had potential with explosives and radio communications.....he said that they knew the Russians were listening to their communications when in...

You would not believe the astonishing, and exasperating, range of spammers we have had over the years. Leon and I once spent weeks clearing out a fellow who had literally thousand+ 'new member' user thing, hw was trying to push of all things, American football jerseys... Thankfully the...

    Eggs,

GFSon1 has bought ducks.....well they were ducklings two months ago, they're huge big things now.....and I wondered at the time, just what she was going to do with well over a thousand duck eggs a year.....I'm still wondering :) On the other hand the ducks are happily rooting around in every...

    Coping with the heat.

If it has any seeds at all they'll happily sprout even if they've dried first. I pluck the buttercup heads and they go out of my garden to another sort of compost pile under a tree.

    Getting away for the weekend.

Nido is your friend. Full fat milk, dried. Easy to use, easy to keep, works well. .....except for those of us who are lactose intolerant :sigh:

    No Mow May

I've started yesterday, hand cutting the edges and sort of slowly working towards the big border that runs along side the fence beside the nature walk....that runs alongside a burn. I'm not rushing it, just bit by bit sort of tidying up. The amazing assortment of grasses is a delight, I'd...

    Tengu up to Stuff

I'm sorry to hear this @Tengu :sigh: I know you loved working there and how much you valued the friendships of the Tribe. I think Annie's right though, and there are a lot of heritage sites around. You're probably closer to Wales and Ireland than you are Scotland....you might try finding...
