Cold steel special forces shovel mod question

If it’s good enough for the British Army then it’s good enough for me. If the OP is intending to abuse the shovel then I’d suggest a different tool rather than weakening the existing one. My own miniature shovel is a pointed blade Roughneck. The OP’s English is infinitely better than my non...

    Autumn in the air

Noooooooo not yet!!!! Autumn means hedge cutting and it’s a big job (for me) and the annual grass mowing. I’ll need to know that the small birds have got the memo before I start hedge cutting. The dark days have always been my favourite time for creativity. I just need to remember where I...

……. creating a story that sells and attracts advertisers. The time line is very rarely straight. Fill in shooting makes for clearer video. Out also enables the producer to exaggerate reactions and consequences. It’s nothing to do with survival.

As with other programmes like this: I’d be very interested to see the waivers signed by participants and the risk analysis done by the producers and anyone else with a duty of care. I’d also like to see what the continuity people do with the raw footage they get and how much revision and “top...

    New face from Los Angeles!

Hi Welcome. It would be interesting to hear how you go about making open fires in such dry conditions. We could learn from you as our summers get hotter and dryer. (We were considerably hotter than Vista a couple of weeks ago)

Cold steel special forces shovel mod question

Is this what you mean @ninjas ? A screw or a bolt here. I do not think that this modification is necessary. I do not know what you want to do with the shovel but it works very well as it is supplied. It would be good if you go to the “Introductions” And tell us a little about your bushcraft...

    Why a Swiss Army Knife.

You use Swiss Army knife now Tee Dee?? Obviously they can be useful as shown by this thread - don’t blame you. But: Then I guess I’m on my own. As repeated so many times here - I have no argument against them other than that I don’t need one.

    Coke Can fire

These aren’t so much bigger than a can bottom but they are parabolic. They focus much tighter than a spherical can bottom might. If I were interested in solar fire lighting I’d but one and carry it. I don’t think I’d thrash around trying to polish a chance found can with whatever abrasive I...

    A find

That’s interesting. Daniel Dee Boon signed his knives “Boon” but it looks very like one of his. If so a wonderful find. Well done.

    WHAT DID YOU MAKE TODAY?

I devoted ten whole minutes to this project. Back scratcher £1.50 from a Llandudno stall. (Wish I’d taken a before shot.) Saw off both ends = Pocket bellows @ about a fiver. I don’t need one and saving £4 isn’t a big deal but hey - it works. A result is a result.
