Yes they are very confusing. The Belay jacket is the closest you'll find these days, but loses the kangaroo pocket given the full length zip.

The Belay jacket seems better suited to this than the smock, given you sound like you want to take it off and on again semi routinely. The smock design is really for use as the thing you wear through thick and thin and only add layers on top to, and as such is a bit of a faff to take on/off, but...

Make sure you buy the correct stuff and don't use just any old super glue - some of the components can be rather harmful to the skin in some formulations.
