We do need to minimise the risk and I would say it is no co-incidence that the peak of grass and woodland fires occurs during the school holidays, but no reason to penalise people who are responsible and careful.

How are we supposed to cook then? FWIW I put my stove on a fibreglass mat. I am sure here that we are all careful and sensible, but yet the stores will happily sell one use barbecues which are probably responsible for most of these bush fires during the school holiday season, say no more.

I have been using a stick for so long it is hard to imagine walking any distance without one. I do have a lightweight folding job for taking shopping and what have you, but mostly I use the elaborately crafted one you can see my avatar using. It is a regular topic of conversation wherever I go.
