French government expected to issue all citizens with survival manual

I wouldn’t bother with CB, it’s either dead or foul languaged idiots. HF or indirect radio would work, by bouncing the waves up directly (almost) and they would then reflect back down off the ionosphere and would get out to a quite long distance (upto hundreds of miles) but you are absolutely...

French government expected to issue all citizens with survival manual

I know lots of hams in person and there is quite a large 80m net on a regular basis all round the UK and that would carry in - many of us monitor 80m outside of the net aswell and an AM net too. I don’t think I would be looking to communicate to order a pizza or an ambulance tbh, more for...

Yeah a few friends use it, I haven’t looked into it in detail, but it’s certainly interesting, similar to rebro for voice transmissions

And people laugh at me for being a radio ham. Atleast HF will still work in a power cut or war!

    Any old iron?

The saw blade would be much better than the angle iron, I made one from an old circular wood saw and it was wuite good. I used the bbq to heat and engine oil to quench (as that’s all I had)

    Time

Obviously jam/cream. I refuse to accept any other nonsense. It like teabags out before milk or after. Only one way is correct.

    Time

I work shifts, and I find it pretty exciting putting the clock forward an hour and realising I am going to g home sooner than I thought, messes up my charting of hourly patient obs though. Later in the year it’s bitter sweet, as you have to turn the clock back and stay longer. If not working it...

French government expected to issue all citizens with survival manual

Not necessarily, I have a silent generator, I can barely hear it from about 20m away, and I am sure with some sort of enclosure I could get that down to just a few meters

    Low Alpine Sting arrived

Not quite the same bag but the same system from the same manufacturer and with colour coding, the sting you can just count the adjustment points to get the inches. Well worth spending the time, I had mine set up as I assumed I had a long torso as I am tall, but after measuring I came down a...

French government expected to issue all citizens with survival manual

Nah not really tbh, I have it as I use it to power outside events at a small museum I work with. I also have a small solar charge setup / I use it for family camping in the summer months but it could easily work in one of these scenarios tbh

the grey man principle! I am not worried about my generator being nicked tbh, I would survive without it

French government expected to issue all citizens with survival manual

My immediate neighbour is a deer manager, i get 2-3 deer per year, I get on well with him and his family so would collaborate if ****. Rest of my family (my brother is the exception ) would probably loose their **** in 24hrs tbh….

French government expected to issue all citizens with survival manual

In my house we keep a modest amount of cash as an emergency reserve, have atleast 2 weeks of food at any given time (fresh, frozen and tinned). I also have around 500litres of water butt water, and a wood burner and about 4months of wood, got a small petrol generator, a Land Rover that runs on...

Cotton Mess tin storage bag - fits a crusader cookset!

Something I stumbled across a while back, after wondering what I could keep my crusader cup in after using it on an open fire to stop the soot guffing up the inside of my bag. I wasn’t interested I. A tactical pouch or webbing pouch, and I wasn’t interested going to make something. But then I...

    Gerber Stowe

In which case Just carry any UK legal folder then. For a recommendation, I have a boker plus Heinnie edition (in fact I have more than one) and I carry it every day in any given situation. Small traditional style pocket knife form, doesn’t look tactical or intimidating, great steel and holds an...
