What do you want to have on Bushcraft UK?

Is the videos section something that could be reinstated? I haven't been a member that long, but I don't think it's been populated with videos since I joined. How did it used to work?

    Silky Gomboy Sheath

Thanks Tony. Yeah, I can't wait. I did their fundamental course last year, such a great team. They've got some cracking courses and trips on next year, so I think I'll be doing more!

    Silky Gomboy Sheath

Thanks Broch. I've got to say it was so enjoyable - I like that there are quite a lot of processes involved, and then something like stitching you can just lose yourself for an hour.

    Silky Gomboy Sheath

That's the one! I was surprised I hadn't come across it as I was sure I'd googled for suppliers in London ad nauseam. Real Aladdin's cave, every tool you could think of and they're cheaper than Amazon!

    Silky Gomboy Sheath

I picked up some leather at the Wilderness Gathering in the summer, and received a leathercraft toolkit for my bday. I'm heading to Lapland in Feb with Wild Human, so with a bit of downtime between jobs, I thought I'd have a crack at making a sheath for my Silky Gomboy Outback. I watched a...

    Any recommended winter bushcraft courses?

Hi all, I'm looking for any experience you may have with winter courses, preferably overseas e.g. Canada, Sweden, Finland etc for subarctic bushcraft. I'm hoping to do Wild Human's course in February, but it's dependent on numbers. So just in case it isn't a goer, I wanted to see if there...

    New video from Tom McElroy

I alway enjoy his videos, they're straight to business, well delivered and genuinely insightful. This time he's in the rainy PNW making a bow drill with natural cordage, making torches out of pine cones and cooking cockles and crabs. It's a nice easy watch

    New Ray Mears series!

I've been having a yen for Ray's programming recently, but it seems to be frustratingly absent from any of the mainstream platforms. I have found some alternatives here, hope they're ok and/or helpful: https://archive.org/details/ray-mears-complete...

    What did you buy today?

Wanted something bomb proof to sleep on and/or to protect the air mat from errant pine needles etc. NATO Multimat ordered from Healy's. Cheapest place I could find for an authentic one at £18.95 with free (albeit slow) delivery.

What wildlife did you spot today?

I was enjoying some funemployment, reading in my local park (N. London) and heard a bird call I didn't recognise. The Merlin app identified it as a Peregrine Falcon and to my amazement, there it was, perched on top of the clock tower in the park. I scurried home to get the binoculars and took...

    Bivvy advice wanted

I didn't have mine closed as it was too warm to be completely sealed inside the bivvy. I'm sure it would keep you bite-free if you were totally enclosed and using the bug net.
