    5 inch scandi grind knife

The Terava Jaakaripukko 140 might be something you would like, I got the small 85 version by having it delivered to a friend living in EU.

    Modified my Lionsteel M4.

You must have some serious set of tools to be able to do all those changes, especially considering the M390 steel.

    Joker Bushlord

It looks nice, but they already have a very similar model called Nordico.

Morakniv ash wood outdoor knife collection

Around £80 for the small one and £100 for the others would be more in line with the quality you are getting and the competition (Condor, TBS, Joker). Even Chinese made knives are around £100 nowadays.

Sheath for my Alex Bantam knife?

Doesn’t Victorinox make these? I’m sure I saw them on Amazon, all sizes, usually leather, but nylon too.

The small one Finn, is £150 at Springfields. Still a lot more for what you get, considering a Lionsteel with micarta handle and better steel is about £130.

£190 for the Wit and cleaver. That‘s a lot, especially when they don’t specify the steel. I think they want to move upmarket, like Seiko did a few years ago.

    quest for a new knife

This looks great. The blade design is a bit different at the top, a lot nicer then the current ones.

    quest for a new knife

It‘s hard to say which one is better without a head to head test in the real world. On paper the Tungsten in the VG7 should give it a bit more wear resistance vs the VG10, but not sure if that will translate in normal use.

I agree. I have a Joker Trampero, the Kephart design, it was £75, I couldn’t believe the quality when it came.

    quest for a new knife

From the proposed I have the Mora Garberg in carbon steel. it is great for the money, tough steel and very easy to sharpen. You would probably want the 14C28N version, which is a great steel. Also I just though I should mention that the F1 is not made in VG10 anymore, they switched to VG7 and...

They can’t be as cheap as that, the Garberg is around £80 and it has a moulded plastic handle. The Hickory handle is not only more expensive to make, but also require manual assembly.

Those are RRP prices, they should be available for less once they hit the shops. If we look at the price of the Garberg, on the site they say 1300 KR, which is £103, but you can buy it for around £70-£75. Also I suspect the steel is Sandvik 14C28N.

New Custom Modified MoD Survival Tool

It looks great. What steel does it come with?

What a good knife to use for cooking and bushcraft

It depends of the budget. A Mora is a great knife for the money, everyone eventually ends up owning one. They are not the best for food prep, due to the scandi grind. You would also want a stainless steel for this. They start at about £20 for the Companion, up until £80 for the full tang...

knife laws explained by a barrister

It looks like whoever wrote the UK knife law did not have much experience with knives, failing to understand that the locking mechanism is a user safety feature. Is the Spyderco Chicago more dangerous than a Lansky Madrock just because it locks?

Better fixed blade steels in the UK/EU these days?

There are enough people looking for the best new thing and most companies are happy to provide that at a cost. Powdered steels are great until you have to sharpen them and they are usually not as tough to beat around the camp on knotty oak branches. I personally like the Sandvik steels, they...

    First axe

I have this Fiskars which I bought brand new from a market for £15. It has a thinner edge than your normal axes and it's not that aesthetically appealing to some, as it uses a plastic integrated handle. It chops bushes in my garden like it's no tomorrow...

    Best Bushcraft Knife to Buy?

Responding on the original post, I think it’s best to determine the type of activity the knife will be used for, then determine the type of grind, blade size, steel and handle variations. For example: camping and food prep - flat grind - stainless steel - 3 to 4 inch blade - any handle material...
