Next lot for this: A really handy Freekey system which makes getting keys/tools on and off your keyring nice and easy without tools/nail breakage whilst also being secure, a keyring double carabiner, pocket hanger clip with bottle opener and hex nut tool, Swiss tech keyring 4x screwdriver set...

Forgive me father for I have sinned

The small Torx on some Spyderco models are made of cheese. It is very disappointing for what they cost. It's very good that they're usually happy to send you replacement fixings from Golden, but they do seem to be affixed too firmly yet made of such soft material.

If you need a loupe to see the shod, then they're way better than the ones I have

    Swiss Eagle Knife

Absolutely, the country of origin is basically meaningless these days in terms of using that to determine quality. I own plenty of Chinese made knives and the quality can be great, just like some of my American knives are great, some are crap. I'm referring to the Chinese SAK-alikes I've been...

    Swiss Eagle Knife

Likewise. Never found any worth a jot. Poor tool finish so they don't quite do what they need to do (scissors, file, awl, saw especially) and inconsistent springs. I'm always surprised at how Victorinox manage to make what they do at the price point they're at. The consistency is phenomenal and...

    What's your go-to Spyderco?

That was an often reported problem with the Tenacious model too, but many years ago now. Given the Resilience is like an XL Tenacious it's not surprising. I think they sorted it though, don't hear many complaints about those now. But they're also twice the price of what they used to be back in...

    Guess what I’m watching

Such a classic film. Not seen the remake though, I just can't see it meeting the tension and shock of the original.

    What's your go-to Spyderco?

As trashcanman says they do an extremely broad range of steels in a lot of patterns, which is really unusual for a production knife company. I also like that they push the boat out on some really odd designs and don't just stick to what they know will sell. I've had good customer support from...

Really interesting article though, learnt new things, thank you for sharing

    What did you buy today?

Like you, the steel made no difference to me. I can't deny that it sounds cool, but was definitely not assuming it to be anything special given the price point and the fact that it's a steel not being used by companies with far more to lose in terms of reputation. Assumed it was rebadged or just...

    Sleep mat for scouts

This is what I do. Worth the weight/pack space for the comfort and protection of the air mat, and the reassuring knowledge that if the air mat goes pop I still have the closed cell foam for the remainder of the night.

    What's your go-to Spyderco?

For me it's the Military when lockable carry is good to go, and the Urban for daily.

    What's your go-to Spyderco?

You can get black wire clips for relatively cheap now from eBay/AliExpress if you ensure they fit the model's grooves - I only went aftermarket for those as I couldn't get a Spyderco black wire clip. If you want to stick with silver though, emailing Spyderco directly may be worth a shot, they've...

    SODBUSTER knife ?

That's really useful to see, thank you. The delrin one is much more what I'd expect in terms of thickness - quite the slabs on it!

    Pocket Dump

You could just loop it over your belt itself if you don't want to have another keeper on your belt? I used to carry my ferro rod looped with paracord through my belt loop until one of Paul Kirtley's courses prompted me to reconsider given how easy they are to rip off accidentally; it's now...

    Pocket Dump

@Pattree When you say the chain is looped through a belt loop, do you mean the flimsy cloth stitched things that hold your belt in place on trousers, or do you mean a dedicated loop like on a dangler knife sheath which your belt threads through?

    What did you buy today?

An enviable ability! I was responding to your saying that it's emotional marketing - that is only the case if you know what the word means. Otherwise it can backfire, like it did with me, who dismissed it (revealing some prejudice there) thinking it was just another pump and dump brand.
