Waterproofs who needs them?
Other than Barbour for work use I also use buffalo clothing but its only really suitable for really bad conditions. If its cold and rainy or cold and snowy buffalo is great otherwise its too warm if you move about a lot. In cold rainy conditions it works really well if you use it as described...- Watch-keeper

Waterproofs who needs them?
If I'm going to be doing any kind of hard work in the rain I use my Barbour jacket, they are just so robust and put up with endless amounts of abuse. I have breathable waterproofs which are great but don't put up with as much abuse .- Watch-keeper

I just thought I'd try a brew from my Trangia kettle after years in storage.... blech it was gopping !
Give it a good scrub out with scotchbrite and bicarbonate of soda solution to absorb any tastes that may have been left behind, see if that helps.- Watch-keeper

Wool Blanket
So I found out what the mixture is for the blended fiber blanket, its 80% merino and 20% polyester, I wonder if the polyester is what makes it feel clammy ?- Watch-keeper
