Folder with just a knife and saw?

I have one of these, decent little package. The saw seems at effective as a SAK one, if not better.

    I, Robot , I Soldier.

A humanoid build may not be the best chassis for many tasks. But it can interact with infrastructure designed around people. There is also the psychological aspect that might be useful in some areas. When they add heels, lipstick and an earring you need to run!

French government expected to issue all citizens with survival manual

A friend of mine just returned from Bangalore. Everything by app, pretty much consumer deliveries within 30 minutes or less.

Is this evidence of a big cat ??

I have new evidence! All my research leads me to the conclusion this is the very rare Wakandan Coal Tiger. Only one exigent example has been documented by Jack Kirby.

    Ration packs

I liked the bla band meatballs but didn’t find it as spicy as review had claimed. Expensive but large portions. Unfortunately rat packs do get dumped. A mate of mine on exercise last year ended up with a pallet that was just going to be chucked. He took them to his unit so they weren’t wasted...

    What did you buy today?

New Millbank filter from chelmerbushcraft on eBay. Inexpensive and great finish, good chap to deal with. Esbit burner with pot for alcohol/meths from AliExpress. I’d use hime made burner for meths though. Bit smaller that a fire dragon folding stove but you can’t fit the blocks in it. It...

    My belt kit.

I sometimes carry a waist pack, old US army molle II “sausage”. About 7L enough for water bottle, brew kit, sit mat and poncho. Ideal for having a cuppa rain or shine. It goes under the pack lid when out and about. Everything I want when I stop is to hand. I try to keep the bag small so I...

    My belt kit.

I was thinking just that. Where is the Bren gun? :) I have been tempted by a universal pouch on the day pack shoulder strap. Should hold a can of Guinness Nalgene bottle of water nicely.

    What colour emergency strobe light?

Most of the Marine emergency strobes tend to be white. As are most torch SOS modes. Strobes get used as underwater markers at depth for divers to find the ascent line or staged gas but are not usually visible from the surface. Double duty as distress marker on the surface. I'd avoid blue...

    Low Alpine Sting arrived

The strike is the 40L day sack. I assume the thin straps are to be less bulky. Maybe for when wedged in a vehicle, chucked on over yoke or under the lid of a big bag.

purpose of this configuration in daypacks?

I’ve seen various urban clothes brands using realtree and similar camo. It does make me smile that it’s twice the price of actual hunting and outdoor workwear but probably not very durable. :D
