while i was working on Japan's largest camping ground we had some animals dig their way into our garbage storage area, no matter how much we fortified it... .the culprits proved to be a family of japanese badgers who had dug their domicile inside an old shed about 10m from our worker's...

currently it's rainy season here, which means our "moat" (==river separating farm from civilization ) is much higher than normal, but yesterday i was lucky enough to see a neotropical otter make it's way upstream without noticing me

didn't know they existed until now... given the fact that i had issues with corrosion on diamond stones in our tropical climate this might work as an alternative to touch up a blade on overnight trips (although i won't be able to get one in the near future)

i actually rounded the spine on my whittling knife (homemade from old file) to stop it from giving me blisters. for scraping i often use a dedicated tool made from a short section of machete blade i found along the road
