    RATS!

I do have a n8ce little pop pop, but unfortunately neighbours are very close and also public footpath up side of garden. No way can I be legally using it within my little garden boundary. If i could be legal, I'd be doing it. The snaps are slow, but effective. I had about 13 in a couple of...

    RATS!

Peanut butter works a treat on the snaps, kill every time. but I was using the blue blocks in the bait boxes. Seemed to not work with them still around after the bait blocks eaten and being rebated. Either I've got a serious problem and I'm over run or the blue bait isn't working. I'm leaning...

    Coping with the heat.

I'm cold! It's like autumn here. Cold wet and windy. It's checked all my beans and peas. Normaly eating peas with my strawberries but the peas are still less than a foot high, let alone producing edible pods. Courgettes are just barely moving in growth. Broad beans are only just flowering...

    Eggs,

Hang on a mo, live longer, but produce less poo, ergo, less polution, as they eat less. Surely, the longer lifespan ........(how long? Nobody actualy states that fact) .....will produce an equivalent amount of poo in the end. I can eat less, but still have the same amount of stools, same size...

    RATS!

Rat number six today in a week. I set the trap that my gardener found after it went missing a few weeks ago, and it was sprung before I could wash my hands and boil a kettle for a cuppa. This despite two bait traps being used as the only alternative I could buy in the range, a few weeks ago. I'm...

    Eggs,

How many years has commercial egg production been happening? If this spin is true, the change would have been made years ago. I don't believe a word of it I'm sure many will fall for the "ecco reasons" though and believe it. I'm a rural lass, I'm not so easily fooled.

Best Concerts Youve Ever Been Too

Should read this before I posted above. Blackbush! Oh gosh, I'd so forgotten, Bob Dylan in about 1977or 78 Was it the one you are talking about.? It's gone fuzzy in my mind. I can rember clearly and excitedly riding my motorbike with a friend towards my first big deal festival, (I lived just...

Best Concerts Youve Ever Been Too

The best concert I've ever been to was in the mid 70's. The Enid, . I saw them live twice, once at Farnham maltings, and a second time at Guilford. Absolutly Spellbinding! The recordings just don't do them justice. Anybody heard of Larry Miller Band. Larry is an amazing Blues guitarist...

    Swedish preparedness pamphlet

In the 26 and a half years I've lived here I've been totaly cut off with severe snow, flooding and trees down across the road. We used to have many power cuts, but since an up grade they rarely last more than an hour or two. I've had plenty of practice at coping , keep tinned food, camp gas...

    Eggs,

Just had a thought,..I wonder if they will only do white easter eggs next year? Saves on importing the cocoa beans to make brown chocolate, think of all the net zero points they can chalk up then. :) :)

    Eggs,

But they do need to be open about the practice. A farmers market is for farmers to sell their own products straight to the public. If you are buying in stuff and passing it off as your own product, it's fraudulent. Not saying the eggs were from cage hens, rather than free range, or what passes...

    Eggs,

Even I have been caught out with eggs this month. At the farmers market were some very fresh looking eggs in large trays, at a good price, the odd feather was to be seen and I thought they were nice free range eggs. I asked for half a dozen, expecting to be able to choose my eggs from the trays...

    Eggs,

How is giving only one type of produce, an option? If they sold both types you would have an option. Having the "choice" of only one type is no choice at all. From what I know, sainsbury home brand is the cheaper end of their products, so it's limiting choice for those who cannot afford a...

    Eggs,

But net zero, is about no cost to the environment. Never will this be attained. Everything has a cost. There will never be a net zero product. I like brown eggs. I find them more appealing estheticly, even though I'm aware there is no difference in nutrition. I have a friend who untill...

    Eggs,

Sainsbury has banned brown eggs in a bid for net zero. We are constantly told that shell colour makes no difference. Do hens that lay brown eggs emit more carbon? Make it Make sense please somebody!

    Guerrilla gardening

I have planted chives and fennel at the entrance to one of our car parks in rather neglected planters. They were ripped out by the council . The planters are now overgrown with ivy and weeds. They also destroyed all the wild strawberries along the path onto town..I rescued a few, and they now...
