K shoes is long gone from Kendal. What was the factory & the workers’ factory shop back in the day is now a gym and a Travelodge with some trendy flats above. When Clark’s bought K shoes they moved all the production abroad.
This one is an eco-build near Troutbeck Bridge on the Patterdale road. Oak framed building with an open-sided barn for outdoor stuff when it’s raining. So most of the time!
I remember once having the same issue & asking a neighbour who worked for K Shoes for some glue. He gave me a contact adhesive and a G Cramp. The repair outlasted the boots!
That was when K shoes was a good brand.
Ok. So there is a spoon group meeting at the National Trust hub in Windermere one Tuesday evening a month from 5-8pm.
That doesn’t work for me in the winter, but I hope to join a few sessions in the summer. I’m posting it for others who may be interested.
I’m getting back into carving some spoons but I always lose momentum after a while when working on my own.
