Good efforts!! Iris is the one easily confused with cat tails, it has a much flatter profile, and seems to have its feet in the water ever so slightly less than cattails in my experience.
Just to add to what Toddy and Broch have said- the pollen can be used to enrich flour mixes.
Things are going better this year than last :) I've reduced slightly the area I'm growing in but I'm hoping to concentrate my efforts better.
I've followed no dig principles this year and got a good layer of home made compost and manure down in the bed that has had all winter to do it's thing...
Good on ya @TeeDee
My biggest gripe is those twerps that drop litter out of there car windows. Especially at standstill in traffic. Something about it makes my blood boil :)
Several books for sale- priced at £3 each, plus £5 postage Inc. All fees, postage price will be the same regardless of the number of books bought I.e. if you purchase 3 books that's £9 plus £5 postage so £14, or 10 books £30 plus £5 postage = £35 all in. Buy the lot and I'll drop the postage...
If you watch the news it definitely does happen! But I get what you mean and it would be good to have something like that here. I think if they forced folk to launch from official boat launches for all craft they could probably prevent a lot of issues from occurring.
As a non-prepper, mainly just keeping an eye on things in the shops. I'd say we've probably tried to broaden our horizons in terms of the food we eat... surely that is the best way to avoid going hungry and it costs nothing and it's fun too. I know a few folks that only eat cheese, chicken...
Great point @saxonaxe the book of tides by Angela Readman is a fantastic and simple guide to understanding the sea and tides too. It's ironically taught me more about sea fishing than any fishing book!
Hmmmm wind blowing left to right? Maybe a 3 wheeled push chair? Looks like the person pushing had to push on the right hand side of whatever the thing was. Sand looks pretty hard pack, but it looks like the person what quite upright as the toe digs in a similar amount to the heel. A windy day...
Dried out and windswept? New tracks because the tide would have washed them away Looks? Looks like a doggo moving right to left too
Edit- another doggo on the right
Brilliant- sounds like you had a great day and the flint products look amazing you should be very proud! I need to get me on a flint knapping course. There's some things I'm comfortable teaching myself but I don't think knapping is one of them... I've attempted it a few times now with very...
Im sure I'm late to the party on this but I heard my first cuckoo on Saturday. I'm seeing loads of bunnies this year, not so many red kites as usual. The vetch has been flowering for a couple of weeks now, which is great as its a lovely snack.
Just had a lovely weekend up in the lakes and spent some quality time with my better half yesterday on a traditional stool making course. I wanted to share the experience as our course leader Gareth Thomas was brilliant and his family business Woodmatters deserves to be shouted about.
We got...
Too true. But this could be the red letter week!
I would echo what others have said. Get out there... do it... and enjoy that it's a bit quieter than normal :)
