I have had 2 multi mats go this way. The second one was a replacement for the first and lasted about 2 Years. It is the fabric breaking down I think. It has mostly been used on a hammock.

I have had the thrunite for a while now. Very impressed with both the build quality and brightness. Nice dimming feature too. I have had the same alkaline aaa in it for months. I use it for short bursts most days.

I had an ex army (german iirc) airbed that I could inflate in seconds with a built in bag you wafted full of air then squeezed it into the airbed. Used it for years until it perished and fell to bits. I have never seen anything quite like it since.
Like this idea though.
