    Emergency signalling

Most of the analogue FM Baofeng radios available on Chinese sites will give you marine Ch. 16. MRTs are largely digital these days. As a caveat, using one on that frequency outside of a genuine life or death emergency is likely to put you in as much legal difficulty as the smoke/flare. Edit -...

I'll take those if you still have them!

    Hard Lemon Soda.

I can see this ending messily chez nous.

    Bug out coffee

I have several of the little manual espresso pumps that come from Chinese aggregate sites. Possibly a bit more 'faffy' than some of the other solutions here but it does make a reasonably good short, strong shot which you can then make long if you prefer. The latest one takes both ground and one...

I've always been a bit dubious about homemade mobile antennas. I can be a bit dubious about the ones I've purchased TBH!

They're blooming difficult to post! The last time I got one delivered, the courier held onto it for a long time until they had a "oversize and overweight" delivery scheduled.

I asked and it appears that a standard 340 clone (I always had Audiolines) draws a little under 5 amps on transmit, so you shouldn't have any issues. The radios I've been using for a while now draw *ahem* considerably more, so it can cause problems.

Same set as the Uniden Uniace 100 or the Audioline 340. Considered by many (self included) to be one of the best 27/81 sets made, if somewhat basic.

    DIY Alcohol gel

I remember something similar from way, way back. Possibly a recipe in SWAT magazine.

Crossbow and broadhead sales ban and crossbow licensing one step closer.

Almost certainly membership of an appropriate club or organisation and regular participation in their events. The consultation has already happened. The resulting legislation is imminent.

Crossbow and broadhead sales ban and crossbow licensing one step closer.

Sometimes. You can still hold handguns here, but all airguns are FAC. In this instance I think we'll probably follow England & Wales, but things can be surprising, we have repeatedly refused to ban hunting with hounds for instance.

Crossbow and broadhead sales ban and crossbow licensing one step closer.

Three extremely expensive bows and a rake of spare parts purchased this week, they'll all be stolen next week.

    Uk panel wipe

This is one area where I'm sitting pretty. Old boy in the pub brings me a five litre container any time I ask, will take a couple of pints but no money, won't tell me where he gets it, but he appears to have an unending supply. I'm not even particularly friendly with him, we just stand at the...

    Has anyone actually made erbswurst?

Acting on a hunch I popped the lot into a bain-marie with a wee bit more rendered fat and another spoon or two of pea flour, my pea sausage is now in sausages!

    Has anyone actually made erbswurst?

So... I did it today. And everything went remarkably well up to point. The point being when I tried to get smart about it. One recipe from an American source suggested making up the pea flour and bacon goo and pressing it into tealight cups to make 'pucks', then wrapping those in greaseproof...

It was Scouting that got me into Bush Crafting, can any other claim the same?

It was only after I'd been here for a while that I actually remembered what the initial impetus was, a free gift with Bullet comic, a little document titled "Survival The Fireball Way", I could remember getting books from the library, heading up the hill & glen near our house with early versions...

    Kidney stones

The OTC medication Buscopan (hyoscine butylbromide) definitely helped me with a stone. But... I can't make recommendations.

    Longshot re a FB Post

During the week I got a "suggested post" from Facebook which seemed to detail someone customising and fitting a kit pouch to the sheath of a MOD D-Type "survival knife". I managed to close it just as it opened and haven't been able to search my way back on to it. I don't suppose anyone knows...

Longshot - Weekend FB knife posting.

Sorry for the daftness of this, but someone posted to FB last weekend on a UK Bushcraft/Prepper/Surplus group with pics of a small MOLLE pouch attached to the sheath of an MOD survival knife, I'd really like to find the post if anyone can help?
