    Green Manure

Yes it came up for about 4 years but it's not hard to pull out or problematic other than just being there.

    Trangia problem...

Mine does get quite stiff. I put it down to a bit of pressure drop when the meths cool sucking the lid on like a jam jar.

Voluntarily handing in a large blade to the UK police

Blimey, I've cut back hedges and brambles along several suburban footpaths and no one's ever complained. Quite the opposite in fact; people tend to be grateful for the improved access.

    Self contained ignition

    Faeces makes good charcoal :)

Installing your first electric poultry fence

Installing it was easy enough. It was some years later when I tripped arris over apex in the dark and landed with the wire on the bridge of my nose that things livened up!

How to plan a solar system

I only ask because the battery meter on my charge controller is rather crude and, from what I've read in the past, the better system is to use a shunt. But I'll shut up now and wait for the next episode!

How to plan a solar system

Does that charge controller control the output to an inverter?

Been watching videos of folks building rough log cabins in the woods, calling it bushcraft

Makes sense in Alaska where you have bears and snow load to contend with. Reminds me of my thoughts on Alone where people built shelters ranging from "it only took half an hour to build and will only take a badger's fart to knock it down" through to "it'll hold off the Viking hordes... if it's...

What is an every day carry really when you get down to it?

Kill 2 birds with one stone and store your coin inside the condom! I see "EDC" as a fashion, typified by Best Damn EDC on YouTube. Yes there are practical reasons behind carrying certain things but what makes it a fashion is the focus on aesthetics and bragging rights. Judging and rating...

    Meatloaf (food).

I've seen it used as a verb to mean rolling up or bundling up things. I shall faggot my chattels and be on my way!

    Meatloaf (food).

How the hell we grew up on Billy bear ham without growing an extra limb I'll never know.

Utility Knives and Multitools – Are they Legal for Camping?

I'm waiting for Svord Peasant style folders to be declared a fixed blade since the rear part of the blade effectively is a fixed handle. Remove the folding handle and you really are left with a fixed blade, albeit an uncomfortable one to use.

    What are you growing?

Finally got my garlic lifted and I'm happy with that. Aside from a bit of weeding it's virtually maintenance/trouble free.

    Faux Fivers

I had Scottish note which was rejected by a shop so rather than keep trying to spend it I paid it into the bank.

I played a rastafari wizard in D&D. He could've looked like this!

    You have to wonder

I've found that folding the leaf and placing it between your molars means you can crush the hairs without getting stung but it's a very dry, raspy leaf. Eating one is like eating sandpaper so I wouldn't fancy eating them for half an hour. That said, it's amazing what you can accomplish with the...
