Only in my garden so far. I like twiddling about making up ditties. What I will say is that the merlin goes out of tune at the drop of a hat as the weather changes. I suspect it would be better if the wood was sealed but it's not a big deal really.
Call me a coward but I quite like steaming bread this way to avoid any possible burning. Of course it ends up strangely crustless but slices can be toasted (and potentially burnt ;)) to restore some semblance of normality.
Lead acid batteries are only supposed to be drained 30% or so, more for a deep cycle leisure battery. So a 100Ah battery might only give you 30Ah of useable juice. Lithium batteries are better, ~90% for LiFePo IIRC. It's worth bearing this in mind to avoid disappointment and ruining batteries by...

I've had (=eventually broken) several stainless steel spades over the years. I recall the last one had a similar fracture to the OP's. Evidently there had been an invisible crack for some time which had corroded. Bear in mind that polished steel will not rust as readily as rough/grainy steel...
It's probably absorbed moisture, like you say. What I do with mine is soak the end of the haft in linseed oil to replace the water with something that won't evaporate.
Here on the (apple) farm the pruners use electric secateurs which tackle pretty thick branches beyond what normal secateurs could manage. They are very expensive though.
It didn't last past this evening! But yes it'll turn fizzy after a few days and eventually become alcoholic then turn to vinegar without a proper air trap.
