The ladders at work got so much (ab)use that the feet broke off within weeks. Thereafter they had a tight fitting piece of wood hammered into the cavity. That always seemed to suffice for grip but it might be an option for adapting an ill fitting rubber foot too.
Metro 2034. The first book was very good and I might be enjoying this even more. Regardless of whether bunkerpunk is your thing, this is beautifully written.
When I looked into it there were simple ones that move through the day but you have to position them correctly, i.e. they don't actually know where the sun is, and others that use light sensors to actively follow the sun. You'd think the latter would be better but on a cloudy day they may hunt...
I was tempted to suggest a hacksaw too. Something with smaller teeth and less bite is easier to start a cut, less likely to jump and requires less power. The Laplander is already at that end of the scale for folding saws.

On Naturehike's .com website the weight is listed as 1.59Kg in a header and 1.36Kg in the specs. Then there's this review

According to the Naturehike website the pro has a taller entrance and weighs 400g less. It boasts upgraded 8mm poles but I've just measured the poles on my standard Cloud Up 2 and they are also 8mm.
I like how wild the theories about the location of Avalon are - from Atlantis to Anglesey to France. The possible etymology of it meaning 'apple' places it firmly in Somerset for me :p
The job losses to AI could be quite incredible. Anything that can be done on computer can be done by computer. The interesting one to watch will be the legal system. AI barristers, judges, etc? Will laws be written by AI?
