    New to the forum!

Hello and Welcome to the forum. Hope you find some stuff that interests you! Knots and draw string bags are great...although my bags tend to be in light and lighter fabrics! :D Zippered pouches are pretty good too. Since discovering the Kifaru and TuffPosum pull-out pouches I have pretty much...

Is Die Hard really a Christmas film?

Hi @plastic-ninja I think some wires got crossed. You replied to my post where I was questioning why Planes Trains and Automobiles was a Christmas movie as if I was talking about Die Hard...Which I agree is a Christmas movie. I am genuinely curious why William reckons PT&A is a Christmas...

Bushcraft and homesteading skills in WW3

Hi TeeDee For someone who called out that the thread was getting political on Tuesday...was it really necessary to reply today to a post from Tuesday citing the actions of politicians? Especially when others clearly made the effort to pull back and return to talking about skills and digging...

Is Die Hard really a Christmas film?

What makes it a Christmas film, in your opinion? Just when it usually gets broadcast in the UK, or the content? It is set at Thanksgiving, and is about the mad rush that many Americans make trying to get home to family for Thanksgiving. It never struck me as particularly Christmas related...

Is Die Hard really a Christmas film?

And how else is one to reply to a thread asking for opinion? :D Its not even a revelation to me that its only my opinion, that is what putting "I think" in all over the place indicates as opposed to just stating things "are".

    Fixed it for you. ;)

    How many Americans are here?

Rather the opposite I expect. Woodswoman’s location shows she is in the US, so a membership on BF or BCUSA will make sales easy. Here it is reliant on our small US contingent seeing that she too is in the US and therefore won’t be messing with international shipping. An easy thing to...

Bushcraft and homesteading skills in WW3

Dear HillBill, A bunch of the questions you asked me are definitely political in nature. Let’s back off from the politics a bit. This isn’t the place to ask, let alone answer most of them. You are right, it isn’t difficult in the least to find article after article and dozens of maps showing...

Bushcraft and homesteading skills in WW3

Regarding Ukraine’s loudly publicised rare earth mineral wealth. There are voices, often fairly experienced voices, that disagree with the narrative that is splashed over the majority of news channels. I know little about mining, but they make sufficiently persuasive arguments that it makes me...

    Tactical or traditional?

Ironically they are selling it for just $19.99. Nothing inspires confidence in quality like seeing already cheaper than dirt “tactical” gear on sale for 50% off. Just as nothing inspires confidence in the honesty and quality of opinion/advice like someone joining a random foreign internet...

Kydex sheaths & Webbing belt loop ?

That is odd. Can you photograph the screws? I don’t suppose you have any Vernier callipers to measure screws or eyelet bores? The eyelets in the sheath should be fine with Chicago screws sold by the Identity Store and similar leather working screws. Bind post screws might be different...

No problem, But why do you keep calling me by half my last name? If you gotta call me something other than my screen name, try Chris. ;)

Kydex sheaths & Webbing belt loop ?

I would ditch the idea of using the Tek-Lok to connect to a belt if it isn’t directly mounted to the sheath. I think one loses too many of the benefits and gets too many disadvantages. If you don’t like the idea of so much plastic forming, you can go about using eyelets to mount webbing to...

Kydex sheaths & Webbing belt loop ?

Shape PVC same as Kydex; hot air gun, forms, gloves, saws, files, sanding. If the Kydex has a click fit, got to be careful that the belt mount doesn’t touch above the last rivet or add to the resistance when drawing the knife. Kydex sheath, PVC belt loop, formed around wood slats.

GMail will use your data to train AI (ie. read all your private emails)

We need a face palm “like” I can imagine some member of the landed gentry around 1810 smugly proclaiming that there is no point in advertising to the working class because none of them have enough money to make worthwhile purchases. Similarly completely failing to understand the business...

Kydex sheaths & Webbing belt loop ?

You don’t need to rivet the webbing. You can use black PVC down pipe material, drilled to match sheath eyelet locations, with slots that you thread the webbing through, then sew the webbing. Many options depending on what hardware you have available. You could make a slotted piece to screw to...
