Help required identifying this old Daniel Silcock tool

Hello, I am sorry you are having trouble. You could have used imgbb without creating an account, at least, that is how I use it, without an account, just going straight to the Upload at the top of the page. The link you show in post #5 has the necessary BBCode link at the bottom for it to...

There is no photo on that Redit link either. You could use https://imgbb.com/ to host an image, direct from a phone camera.

    New member- bushcraft qualification advice?

The original poster has not been on the forum since 12 February. Doubtful they will ever see those last two replies.

Looking for info on QDanT, Danny Tierney

Hi BorderCollie Moved to a better sub forum and renamed. The intro area tends to be just for people to say hello and introduce themselves. Easy for their substantive questions to get lost in there, especially if they don’t put anything about their question in the thread title….so hopefully...

Sorry @bits . New members’ first few posts need to be manually approved and no one saw your 18:45 post till 22:00.

    Recommend me a wristwatch.

Bands can be switched, I have watches that came with silicone or stainless steel and are now on nylon or leather. Lume can be custom refreshed. The requirements for depth rating, price and automatic are a problem together. The Seiko Tunas tick some, but are more expensive, even secondhand...

The real disappointment is that after pasting his post, “Dave” didn’t come back to see what sort of welcome he had received.:)

Crossbow and broadhead sales ban and crossbow licensing one step closer.

I think this thread could do with cooling off. It has more than fulfilled its original purpose in making people aware. Now it’s just too many folk disagreeing and getting annoyed with each other, much as I described in an earlier post. Thank you, and have a good evening.

Since “Dave” just copied and pasted a previous member’s post it’s unlikely he has any such memories himself. More likely that he grew up in Mumbai or Lagos and now sits at a computer posting spam or trying to defraud grannies.

Hello DaveSunny, Welcome to our forum. I have this strange sense we have met before….ah yes, there we are, de ja vu! Amazing, right? https://bushcraftuk.com/community/threads/new-guy.168885/

Crossbow and broadhead sales ban and crossbow licensing one step closer.

Just removed a post. Too political for this forum. This thread was started because there was news on the subject, the debate had been discussed before, and no one appeared to have seen that there had been a development. Also, we know that there are people who read and participate who will be...

Crossbow and broadhead sales ban and crossbow licensing one step closer.

I generally don't like banning things (or a lot of licensing), but, I hear people arguing all the time about whether bans "work" or not, and it invariably seems to come back to people having different measures of what "work" means. Clearly, bans: Do not stop sufficiently motivated people from...

Camping with a tarp in the open.

Don't know. Compared to pole tents, inflatable tents tend to be heavier. Their selling point is ease of set up of large structures with complex pole frames...and there being no poles to break in strong wind.

Camping with a tarp in the open.

Definitely tongue in cheek reply. It’s obvious that any balloon big enough to give enough lift is going to suffer from huge wind drag. Also, that any change in wind direction will have a negative effect on pitch with extra load on individual tie outs, and probable shelter collapse. Not to...

Camping with a tarp in the open.

How big is the tarp? :biggrin2: Would you envision carrying a small cylinder for on-site inflation, or arriving like a beach balloon salesman with a bunch tied to one’s pack? Definitely not suitable if trying to stealth camp.

Not legislation yet, but a strong statement of intent (bold is mine). Response to consultation updated 19 March 2026 https://www.gov.uk/government/calls-for-evidence/controls-on-crossbows/outcome/controls-on-the-use-of-crossbows-on-public-safety-grounds-government-response 2.1 1. The...

Bark River Knives (BRKT) out of business - Chinese blades marked Made in USA

Where was that Heinnie statement posted? Couldn’t find on website, but maybe it was elsewhere? At this moment the only BRKT knives they have for sale are the GLADSTONE HUNTER and the Bravo 1, and only the former is marked down…so no need to get excited over bargains! :lmao:

Definitely don’t mean the Aurora, which came later. Was definitely the North Star, and what you said is almost verbatim what I said, with the addition that the front of the handle was too narrow to spread load.
