Looks interesting but I think it lacks flexibility compared with a waxed cotton coat/jacket -- can't open the front (for venting or accessing kit on belt/in shirt pockets) and there's no poacher/game pocket. Plus I tend to distrust zips.
Well it's certainly interesting but I think he's missing a few things. Namely a power source, a condutor and a sounder/indicator.
Or to put it another way he has not made a telegraph but a telegraph key.
The only two workable solutions I can think of are (a) leave it as a partial-stick-tang or (b) chop it off at the shoulder and consider it a 2-pin partial-tang knife.
