    Portable Forge for Shows.

The thing you need to appreciate with scrap metal of any sort is that, short of a professional analysis for each individual piece, you won't know with any certainty what it is. Sure there is a lot of scope for some basic tests (spark, heat-treat, feel under the hammer etc.), visual inspection...

    Portable Forge for Shows.

If you're removing turf anyway you might as well go for a full-on ground-forge. It's period-correct for most periods, works surprisingly well and is free.

Looking for specific canvas luggage manufacturer

Evenin all. A while back there was a link posted on here to a British manufacturer of high quality, high-priced canvas and/or wax-cotton luggage. There were wash-rolls, overnight bags etc., and they were all named 'Dave', 'Fred' etc. I've been tryign to find them again but to no avail. Anyone...

    legal folder idea

Could you not cut a piece of something to precisely fit the 'hole' in the middle of the handle, of a similar thicknes to the knife, glue in place, and drill a hole in that for the pivot?

    Czech army sleep system?

Looks like a blanket, a tarp and a bedsheet to me. I wouldn't spend £25 on it.

    PLCE bergan worth it?

It's quite sturdy and inexpensive, but I find that the enormous capacity is rather tempting to fill, and that's not what I like doing. Mine hasn't been out from under the bed in about 9 months. It's a little short for most people since it's designed to fit over webbing. Not many fancy gubbins...

    Larger Knife?

Tried any Frost/Mora knives? Lot of knife for your money, typically £2.50-£20 depending on model. Very well respected.

Makers stamp for burning into wood (part of historic recriation project)

If you were to find a rod of metal roughly the right dimensions, you could mark the (mirrored) design onto the end with a permanent pen. Then remove everything that isn't part of the design. If you're clever with the design you should be able to do it with a basic set of warding files (about...

    Beautiful Days Festival - Exeter

Ain't wrong there. Was a good balance over the weekend down near Bude; warm, sometimes damp at night but not too hot. Still managed to get a little pinkish though...

That's been cut from a piece of rail or possibly I-beam. 2" thick mild steel plate would be miles better.
