    Climbing in the Peak District

Squiders, The organisation of the leadership qualifications is a bit tricky to get your head round. Mountain Leader. (ML) Qualifies you to take groups out walking in the mountains. So there is lots and lots of navigation. There is camping, mountain weather, access etc. And then there is...

    Climbing in the Peak District

All four places in a weekend :yikes: There will indeed be much "pain and trashed finger tips". Don't forget the superglue. :-) A mass bouldering session in Burbage valley could be fun. A nice place, full range of grades and quick easy access. Did I say its a nice place. :-)

    Mountain Leader Award

A mate of mine passed his ML assesment 2 weeks ago. His comments very much agree with what has been said above. The night-navigation was the big test, 3 o'clock in the morning and hammering down with rain. Jon

    Outdoor survival skills

Great book. Got to watch out for missing pages though. A copy I saw had about 20 pages missing, not torn out, they had been missed out when the book was bound. Easy enough to spot though, the page numbers gave it away. Jon

    Has anyone seen this before?

I have done their weekend course. Definately bushcraft orientated rather than survival. Shelter building, fire by friction, knife sharpening, trapping and game preparation, etc. The weekend was well organised and all three instructors seemed to know their stuff. A good weekend. I've also...

    An Alternative Charcloth Tutorial

How about punching a small hole through the crimped section and threading a largeish split ring (key ring) through the hole. Means you can then fish the pipe out of the fire when you need to, just poke a stick through the ring and lift it out. Also, when not in use, can be clipped or tied to...
