    Latest few leather books

I finished this one a few weeks ago but as it was a present I could not post it till now. Another Quentin one. The recipient is a canoeist and a climber. About the same time I also finished this one for a friend's son who is a big Dr Who fan.

I almost forgot I had listed this, what reminded me was this blogg just posted on SotP. An example of the tent getting used the way I should have...

    Tentipi Varrie 7 with Groundsheet

After much deliberation I have decided to sell my Tentipi. It is simply not getting used now. I got it almost 10 years ago and the first pictures of it are on this thread. http://www.bushcraftuk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6958 My the girls have grown. The tipi is the Varrie which was the...

One man and his dog out for one night only.

I've picked up some new bits of kit after my last overnight trip a few weeks ago so have been itching to get out and give them a good test. One of them, the Thermarest Treo Chair I have reviewed here, http://www.songofthepaddle.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?48307-Thermarest-Treo-Chair-review...

    Long overdue canoe camping trip.

The chairs are just the kind of standard fishing chairs you get. Heavy but more robust than anything else we have tried.

    Long overdue canoe camping trip.

The tarps are polycotton ones. I got them made for a group buy type thing on SongofthePaddle. They are 4m x 3.3m so good for use with a hammock in whatever direction you set them up. They weight about 2.5kg. We also got lighter weight ones made that weigh about 1.1kg for the same size. I don't...

    Long overdue canoe camping trip.

It certainly did. Hoping that Russ and I can get out every two or three months and also looking at some options to let me do more one night quick trips.

    Long overdue canoe camping trip.

It's been over 3 years since my last overnight canoe camping trip. Waaaaaay to long. To rectify this Russ (Warthog1981) and I marked a date in the diary a month or so ago and decided we were going come what may. Of course as it got closer to the weekend the weather forecasts were starting to...

    Latest few leather books

I didn't remove any leather. I traced the pattern then cut the lines into the leather. I then wet the leather and "knocked back" the areas I wanted recessed using the tool you see in the pictures. You can use a background tool but I find I get smoother results with the one I have, but don't know...

    Latest few leather books

Another recent book. This one was for a competition prize on SotP and is our logo Quentin. I had to trace the pattern before cutting it onto the leather then carve the leather to make Quentin stand out. Finally dye different bits different colours, stitch and wax. I'm very pleased with how...

    Latest few leather books

I sometimes use these journal refills http://www.amazon.co.uk/Papuro-Refillable-Handmade-Italian-Journal/dp/B00901DAA2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1422874000&sr=8-1&keywords=journal+refill and sometimes stitch my own text blocks that are similar. The books are all refillable though as I would hate to...

    Latest few leather books

I've still been visiting often but have not been logged in for a while, so since I am I thought I would post up a few of my recent leather projects. I make a few things but seem to keep coming back to leather journals. I did a couple for Christmas presents with a Shield / Hydra theme...

Admin, I keep getting redirected when in the Maker's Market

Just checked by doing a google search for BushcraftUk and when I clicked the result I got redirected to the Filestore spam site. I found this strangely comforting as the same thing happens with SongofthePaddle and DogWalkBloggs which I thought was down to something I did wrong. Now I know it is...

    An egg-cellent walk at Johnshill.

I posted this here on Dog Walk Bloggs, http://www.dogwalkbloggs.com/showthread.php/85-An-egg-cellent-walk-at-Johnshill, but figured it would fit here too. Plus I may be more likely to get an answer to my egg and compost queries ;). On with the tale. On Friday night I had an hour to kill while...
