It weighs just over 3KG complete - that's inner, outer fly, lovely ally poles, repair kit and carry bag. Not massively heavy but not lightweight. Built like a tank, is light proof so you can sleep in the day inside and it's still dark as night. Nice and low profile for stealthy camping and just...
I have a ICS in ACU - it's a nice little tent, one man with a nice big area to store your gear. You can just use the outer which gives a nice sized shelter for two to sleep under.
Only real down side is the weight of it - it is built extremely well, though (like most US gear)

I have a sleeping bag, foam mat and poncho as well as a crusader cook set and FAK. If I had to sleep in/near the car it's good to have the necessary bits on you instead of at home in the man cave :)
Thanks - I've been thinking of sewing a loop onto my other hammock (without a net) just so I can stake out one side on the diagonal. It really alters the feel of the hammock in a good way :)
Nice job - I placed the original up here on the forum, it's a good size and easy to put up - you don't even need any trees (which is a problem the higher up you go!)
Love the Flecktarn one, it's a great pattern for UK woodland.

Hi Folks
I'm a big fan of hammock camping but always find the bug net seems to hang on me regardless of how I tie up the net suspension. I came up with this remedy the other day and was very pleased with it. I attached a biner to the two zips on the side of the hammock I don't exit from (so the...
I do like the TW XL - the extra length really does make it more comfortable. Made in the UK, too, so worth supporting :)
I have a Hornet too, when the bugs are about!

I have added a loop of shock cord to all my guylines (there's plenty of how-to's on the internet) and it makes a big difference in removing shock loading in high winds and also keeps the tarp tight when it stretches when wet. Well worth doing :)
It's funny how we keep saying synthetic bags are big and bulky - try and fit a duvet in your rucksack and then you'll realise how much smaller a sleeping bag is. Using a compression sack (the Brit army one is superb!) seriously reduces the size or just do what the army does - ram your sleeping...
That's a brilliant setup - I've just been googling brollies and found this one, ready modded!!

Yes, going to be fun - I guess the secret is to pretend you're still a kid :)
I'm sat here nose streaming with a cold so will have to wait until next weekend to find out if I've hit gold!
Hi Folks
I'm always keeping my eyes open for Chaga fungus and saw this on a Birch tree - it's about 9ft up the tree so thought I'd get your opinions before climbing up there :)

I've tried numerous times to dye kit and it nevers works out as good as it could - you also end up spending more than the item is worth in dyes, salt, containers, etc...
Something I've seen a lot of videos of on Youtube is airsofters using spray paint to re-colour stuff - seems to work well...
