I found out over the years that it is more cumbersome to carry a knife that does small jobs clumsy than the other way around.
So, most of the time it is a Bison Bushcrafter for me...
Just go for it. Even when living in a town, unexpected stuff can and will happen in your life. And I am not entirely convinced that you will be better off that way - these days.
For field maintenance, I always carry this as a pendant and use it alongside my stropping-compound saturated leather belt:
