    Best bushcraft book ever ?

I like this as well, a book that's easy to dip into at random and find something interesting. I also - because it was my first - enjoy reading the Coffee table version of Bushcraft by Raymondo.

    to all Scout leaders

We've just this last weekend had our centenary camp, which - whilst wet on the Sunday - really seemed to go well (even if I nearly gave myself a heart attack getting het-up about stuff on Friday afternoon...). All the kids looked like they were enjoying themselves, and that's the main thing! Not...

Great boil in the bag food

I've had the Venison sausages and the Mushroom Stroganoff - bought in Millets! Both were very good, and priced favourably against the repackaged ratpack meals Millets also sell. Thanks for putting the link in - I'm just about to place an order... [edit] order now placed... yum! A pity they...

    to all Scout leaders

If you can get the "Cool!" factor, showing them something they might never have seen before, then you're more than halfway there. If you can show them that THEY can do it themselves - you're there; and the expression on their faces at that point makes the times (and they will exist) when you...

    Coleman Tent

I've recently bought an x2 and am very pleased with it. Although it is not big enough for 2 (usual 2-man guff...) it is easily big enough for 1 and has a very nice bunch of features. The Porch is easily big enough for a 75 litre rocket pack with space to spare. I was using it over the weekend...

    to all Scout leaders

That depends. were you being asked by a specific Group to help out? There are 2 sorts of adult support at a group level - uniformed Leaders and helpers; both have to be CRB (Criminal Records Beauru) checked, and there is an extensive training programme that uniformed leaders have to complete...

    What's your main outdoor activity?

Same with me - it all comes from the initial act of going camping. However, there's nothing I like more (in bushcrafty terms..) than a nice calm afternoon walk in my local woods.

    Hawthorn tea

it really is as simple as collecting the leaves in a mug an pouring hot water over them, letting it steep for a couple of minutes. However, I suggest you use the youngest leaves you can find. It is a refreshing brew, tasting slightly of apple (the moreso as you reach the bottom). You can also...
